We are very excited to announce that the Georgia Tech 7th Annual Investments Seminar will be held on Saturday November 21st, 2009. Please follow the following link at the bottom of the page in order to register.


Each year, the Georgia Tech Student Foundation hosts an Investments Seminar with intriguing sessions to further students’ knowledge in the world of finance.  We are very excited to announce that the Georgia Tech 7th Annual Investments Seminar will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Amongst the speakers, we have prominent GT alumni such as Joe Evans(Industrial Management 1981), Gary Jones(Industrial Management 1971), Garnett Keith(Industrial Engineering 1957), Jimmy Trimble(Management 1991) and a panel of Young Alumni speak to students. The various topics covered will be:-

  • Getting Started for the Beginning Investor

  • Clues to Success on Wall Street

  • Macro Economic of Emerging Markets

  • Life as an Analyst

  • The Sub Prime Crisis

 


There will be 3 sessions offered at 9:15am, 10:20am and 11:25am each. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

Check-in begin at 8:15am, and the Seminar begins at 8:55am.

This year's keynote speaker is Jack Markwalter who will be wrapping the seminar up with his keynote speech.

Jack Markwalter - Jack Markwalter(Industrial Management 1981) is chairman and chief executive officer of Atlantic Trust and Invesco National Trust Company. He is a senior managing director of Invesco and serves as a member of Invesco's Executive Management Committee. He joined Atlantic Trust in 2002 as head of business development and became CEO in 2004. Before Atlantic Trust, Jack was managing director and national director of the client strategy group for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Jack earned a Bachelor of Science with highest honors from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
